OCADU Iranian Student Association @iaocadu – The Iranian Association of OCAD University will be hosting an event in mid-March in celebration of the Persian New Year, also known as Nowruz. Nowruz marks the spring equinox, which falls on March 20 this year. Translating to “New Day” in English, Nowruz welcomes the arrival of spring and symbolizes renewal, rebirth, and new beginnings and a time to look toward the future with hope. Celebrating the Persian New Year carries special significance this year. It is an act of resistance. At a time when many Iranians, both within Iran and across the diaspora, continue to raise their voices for change and justice in an ongoing revolution, coming together becomes an act of hope and solidarity. By gathering to celebrate Nowruz, the community affirms its commitment to connection, cultural heritage, and hope for a better future. Stay tuned on their socials for more information about the event.
